• El Corte Preciso: You will see how the local farmers make fine, precise cuts in the bark of the tree at exactly the right angle. A cut that is too deep would damage the trunk, and one that is too shallow would not let the latex flow.

• El Goteo del Látex: You will watch the white liquid latex begin to seep out and slide slowly down into the coconut or plastic bowls tied to the trunk.

• Night Life and Early Morning: You will learn that this work is usually done in the dark of the early hours (when the latex flows better in the cool temperatures), a sign of how hard the people of Isan work.

You will walk between the endless rows of trees, enjoying the shade and the coolness these plantations provide. The guides will explain how that sticky liquid is collected, processed into sheets and ends up as tyres, footwear and thousands of products we use every day all over the world.
