Un Encuentro Genuino
Far from the urban centres, the small village schools are the heart of the community. When you arrive you will be greeted with the biggest smiles in Thailand: those of the children, whose curiosity and hospitality never run out.
-
Intercambio Cultural: You will have the chance to take part in small activities, watch how the lessons are run or even practise a few words of English (and learn some in Thai!) with the pupils.
-
Life in the Village: You will see at first hand the rural education system and the effort the teachers put into preserving local traditions while they prepare the new generations.
-
Momentos de Alegría: Whether you share a game at break time or simply watch their daily routine, this experience gives you a human perspective that no other tourist activity can match.
Tourism with Purpose
This visit is not just a stop along the way, it is a chance to connect respectfully with the local culture. It is the perfect moment to understand how important community is in Isan and to take away a memory that does not fit in a photograph, but in the heart
RUBBLE TREE
ÁRBOL DE CAUCHO
THE SECRET OF WHITE GOLD: VISITING A RUBBER PLANTATION
Deep in the rural landscape of Nong Khai, life beats to the rhythm of the rubber trees (Hevea brasiliensis). On our route we stop at a local plantation to see close up one of the pillars of Thailand's economy.

The Art of Extraction (Rubber Tapping)
This is not just farming, it is a precision technique that has been passed down for generations. You will be able to watch the extraction process at first hand:
-
El Corte Preciso: You will see how the local farmers make fine, precise cuts in the bark of the tree at exactly the right angle. A cut that is too deep would damage the trunk, and one that is too shallow would not let the latex flow.
-
El Goteo del Látex: You will watch the white liquid latex begin to seep out and slide slowly down into the coconut or plastic bowls tied to the trunk.
-
Night Life and Early Morning: You will learn that this work is usually done in the dark of the early hours (when the latex flows better in the cool temperatures), a sign of how hard the people of Isan work.
Del Árbol al Mundo
You will walk between the endless rows of trees, enjoying the shade and the coolness these plantations provide. The guides will explain how that sticky liquid is collected, processed into sheets and ends up as tyres, footwear and thousands of products we use every day all over the world.
This visit lets you understand the direct connection between the land and industry, appreciating the manual work that supports thousands of families in this border area.
Dato curioso: Did you know that a rubber tree can produce latex for around 25 to 30 years? It is a fascinating life cycle that you will discover step by step during our visit.
RICES FARM
RICE FIELDS
THE EMERALD HEART: VISITING THE RICE FIELDS
No experience in north-east Thailand would be complete without going into its endless campos de arroz. More than just a crop, rice is the soul of Nong Khai, and we will take you straight to the best viewpoints so you can experience this iconic scene.
MORE INFORMATION
Immersion in the Farming Tradition
During our stop we will go down to the edge of the field so you can feel the serenity of the rural landscape and understand at close range how complex this ancient crop is:
-
Ingeniería Rural: You will discover the ingenious irrigation systems and how the local farmers manage the land with a skill passed down from generation to generation.
-
El Sabor del Isan: You will learn the difference between jasmine rice and the famous arroz pegajoso (Sticky Rice), the mainstay of the local diet, grown with pride in these border lands.
-
Paz Visual: You will enjoy an endless horizon of green and gold tones, the perfect setting to capture the essence of the most authentic Thailand.
Walking along the paths that divide the plots is a chance to breathe clean air and connect with the slow rhythm of life in the countryside.
CULTURE OF LOCAL
CULTURA LOCAL
MEETING THE WATER BUFFALOES
On our route through the rice fields we will have a very special encounter with the búfalos de agua (Khwai in Thai). These majestic animals are not only the symbol of traditional farming, they are also considered part of the family by the local farmers.

-
El Baño en el Lodo: You will see them cooling off in the canals and mud pools, a typical, relaxing scene that defines the rural landscape of Nong Khai.
