SIMILAN ISLANDS TOUR FROM KHAO LAK

The Similan Islands are considered one of the best snorkelling and diving destinations in the world, and Khao Lak is the best base for visiting them: the departure pier (Thap Lamu) is just 20-30 minutes from most hotels, compared with the hour-and-a-half transfer from Phuket. If you are staying in Khao Lak, this is the tour you cannot miss.

Why are the Similan Islands so special?

El Parque Nacional de las Similan Islands is an archipelago of 9 islands of white sand and turquoise waters, with coral reefs full of life: turtles, tropical fish and, if you are lucky, rays. The most famous spots are Sail Rock on Koh Similan and the beaches of Koh Miang.

Season: when can you visit?

El parque nacional opens from mid-October to mid-May. During the monsoon (May to October) the islands stay closed to protect the ecosystem. The months from December to March offer the calmest sea and the best visibility for snorkelling.
