WAT PANAN CHOENG
Este monasterio ubicado al sur de Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya no tiene registros sobre su fecha de construcción ni sobre la persona que la causó. Existía antes de que Ayutthaya fuera fundada como capital. La principal imagen en el Wihan llamado «Phrachao Phananchoeng» fue construida en el año 1325 d.C.; está hecha de estuco en la actitud de someter al mal; considerada hermosa, es venerada por los habitantes de Ayutthaya.
WAT YAI CHAIMONGKOL
Este monasterio construido en el reinado del Rey U-Thong está ubicado fuera de la ciudad hacia el sureste, en la misma dirección que la estación de tren; se puede ver su gran pagoda desde lejos. El Rey Naresuan el Grande ordenó que se construyera la pagoda para celebrar la victoria de su combate a caballo en solitario. También planeó una construcción enorme para igualar la gran pagoda de Wat Phukhao Thong, y la llamó «Phra Chedi Chaiyamongkhon».
WAT MAHATHAT
Royal Templeof the Kingdom of Ayutthaya. It is one of the oldest and most significant temples in the history of Ayutthaya, as it housed the sacred relic of Buddha. Many important royal ceremonies of the Ayutthaya era were held here.
WAT PHRA SRI SANPHET
In the heyday of Ayutthaya, this was the largest temple in the city. The three main chedis, which have been restored, contain the ashes of three kings of Ayutthaya. The temple is located at the northern end of Si Sanphet Road. The royal chapel has no monks or novice inhabitants.
WAT CHAIWATTHANARAM
Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, west of the city island is Wat Chaiwatthanaram. Built in 1630 by King Prasat Thong in honor of his mother, Wat Chai Wattanaram was conceived as a replica of the temple of Angkor.
