Good news for travelers! Whether you were planning your trip to Phuket or are already on the island, the iconic Big Buddha has finally reopened its doors to the public.

After a period of necessary closure since August 2024 due to landslides, the reopening of the Phuket Big Buddha is now real, this impressive monument has been welcoming visitors again since last March 3, 2026.

Change of name and new management:

New chapter under the official management of Wat Kittisangkaram (Kata Temple).

This change marks a firm commitment: the site will operate with full legal transparency, strict religious guidelines and responsible oversight for the future. This new stage guarantees a much more careful and respectful experience for all visitors who come to visit this sacred place.

  • Opening hours: Every day of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m..
